Bourke Street Compound

Pollen was engaged with the long term upgrade of a heritage Bakery Compound in the inland City of Goulburn between Canberra and Sydney. The Compound comprised an old bakery factory, a three bedroom cottage that had once been the residence of the bakery manager and the old bakery shop.

Two of the constituent properties were renovated and were offered for short term lease via Stayz and Airbnb. The project was successful and the properties proved popular with business travellers and tourists. Goulburn has a surprisingly diverse economy and the properties were used by an interesting range of people, from HSC markers, to Police Academy students to participants national hockey tournaments.

At the end of the project the Compound was returned to family use.

Bourke Street Popup

The Bourke Street Popup was a unique little property within the Bourke Street Compound. Based in the old Bakery shed, the popup was a mini-studio that slept one. It came with a galley kitchen, broadband, parking and use of the old commercial bathroom. The property was well-suited to sole travellers passing through town who just needed somewhere to "crash".

Bourke Street Cottage

"Bourke Cottage", the three bedroom cottage in the Bourke Street Compound, was available for short-term let for up to four persons via Airbnb and  Stayz. The house was perfect for families or for business travel. The house included partial airconditioning, broadband and an extensive study/workspace and could be set up as a house with two double bedrooms (King and Queen) or a double and a twin.
