Singleton is a town on the Hunter River of about 16,000 residents that was founded in 1820 and that is currently a major services centre for the Upper Hunter. The local economy is focused around coal mining, horse breeding and agriculture and the town also sits close to the Valley’s wine country. And, honestly, if you have young kids, Singleton’s Riverside Park has been named the best playground in New South Wales, an accolade it richly deserves!
